Introduction

Cultural Centre Villa Rana is a versatile performing arts centre, that hosts many artforms and welcomes all audiences. Villa Rana is a unique Art Nouveau building in the historical campus area of the University of Jyväskylä.

Cultural Centre has two performance spaces that can house up to 250 people at one time. We offer around the year for example movies, dance and theatre shows, concerts, clubs, talks and seminars, events and art residency periods. The house has also a restaurant, a foyer, office spaces and an artist residency studio. The spaces are for rent. Restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday and during the events, and during the summertime a terrace next to the Botanic Garden of the University invites you to enjoy the sun.

Villa Rana is managed by Jyväskylän kulttuuritalon tukiyhdistys ry. Permanent members are the Film Centre of Central Finland, Children’s Music Orchestra Loiskis, the Regional Dance Centre of Central Finland, Jyväskylä Festival and Teatterikone.
