Omakuva sarjakuvasankarina / Self-portrait as a comic book hero
During the workshop, we will create a cartoon character of ourselves. In the creation of our characters, we will use real and imaginary features. Nothing has to be true per se, because the true stories found in the comics usually are things that no one believes to be real. Making a comic involves creative thinking. We will look at ready-made characters from pop culture. You can go wrong here. That’s a good starting point. Are you more of a Peppa the Pig or Knight Rider? They are not cartoon characters, but characters nonetheless. The workshop is directed by Riitta Uusitalo.
Alternative Self-portrait
During the workshop, we will create an alternative self-portrait using the collage technique. Participants are invited to explore the topics of courage and self-knowledge. The collage technique supports freedom and a critical look at stereotypical beauty ideals and pressures created by social media. The workshop is directed by Elisa Haverinen.
